Toxic air pollutants released by cigarette smoking pollute the environment, harms wildlife, as well as polluting soil, beaches, and waterways. cigarette butts can cause heavy metal contamination of water, which can harm local organisms.
Most people who hear about smoking think about its health risks. Its negative effects on the environment are often overlooked.
1. Deforestation
Most tobacco grown in rainforests is used to make cigarettes. This is evident in Tabora village, Tanzania, where local tobacco farmers confirm this.
2. Soil and Land Pollution
Most of the ingredients present in cigarette butts, are non-biodegradable and take years to break down. Around the world, cigarette butts cause countless forest fires. Each year, about 17,000 people die in fires caused by cigarette lighters or discarded cigarettes
What can you do to help?
Organize a cigarette butt cleanup in your local area regularly, All you need is a bag and gloves. Before throwing away a cigarette, make sure it is extinguished.
Cigarette litter elimination Includes helping people quit tobacco too.
Here's me when i cleaned up local cigarette trash,

Whether the litter is intentional or unintentional, large or small, it can drastically affect the environment for years to come.We don’t want to live in a trash can. Stop making it one
I don’t want to protect the environment. I want to create a world where the environment doesn’t need protection. 🌱
